Patience Gbenga (Nee: Ogbaji)

Patience's story reminds us why PGF exists: to end preventable maternal and infant deaths and to stand with families whose futures can be changed by loss.

33 years old

Transitioned to glory on April 15, 2022 in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria

This memorial website was created in memory of the love of my life, Patience Gbenga (Ruby), 33 and half years old, born on August 30, 1988, and who transitioned to glory on Friday April 15, 2022 - the day of the commemoration of the death of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

She was everything I wanted in a wife. She was the embodiment of God's blessing to me. She was peace personified.

She complimented me in every way. Her parents became my parents. Her brothers my brothers.

I call her Ruby after the proverbs 30 woman because she embodied all the qualities of a virtuous woman. Our lives were intertwined in every way. We had beautiful plans of growing old together.

Just after 3 and half years of marriage, I can't believe I'm referring to my Ruby as "was".

I'm going to live with the joy of having her in my life for a few years and the pain of losing her so early for the rest of my life.

She died during a caesarean section on April 15th, 2022 at Raeab Medical Centre, Abuja. The C-section was conducted by Dr Aborisade Emmanuel Olabode. The baby is alive.

We will remember and cherish the memory of Ruby forever.
